Cha2,

<< You must be joking >>

When it comes to investing, and I joke, I add an emoticom.

<< You seriously believe that the Europeans can and will blackball HDR and 1xEV? >>

Unless someone can convince Chris Gent to back HDR and 1xEV at 3GPP and ETSI and within GSMA, it stands no chance in Europe. Chaz, you are reading "Living on the Fault Line". What does it say about the clash between Proprietary Open Standards and Committee Based Open Standards?

<<Since HDR meets all the specifications of 3rd gen, what possible excuse could there be? >>

Proprietary. Not part of OUR standard. Does not meet UMTS standards and is being proposed by an entity not part of 3GPP.

<< Would it be the absurdity that it fits current spectrum? >>

ABSURDITY??? That is truly absurd. On any continent other than NA 3G occupies a specific spectrum.

That too. 1xEV (so far as I know (but I don't know since it is only just now starting the standardization process), is non compliant with a specification long worked on.
