Of course you may be right because I cannot predict the future. But I envision a much different scernario than one you have detailed. True, I believe MSFT is in a slow decline and is late to the internet.

If they can execute, as they have proven they can do in the past, to catch up on the internet S curve would be truly amazing. I do not believe they can. ORCL is shipping products today that MSFT wishes to ship in the future. I believe they missed the turn. Yes, these are my beliefs but only time will tell and, of course, our portfolios.

Not only were the antendees generally uninterested in Sun's freebies... --- These, of course would have been the developers who resent not being able to develop in Java for Windows only, right? Or are you including .NOT's Cobol programmers in there too? --- Microsoft's 'vision' of the Internet is of this great big mouth of the Unix driven/open standards world-wide-whale closing down around it. --- Soon, it will be entirely dark in Redmond, except for the occasional phosporescent floatie in amongst the plankton. -JCJ
