Mark,

I have been using the TISI 7 degree driver for about two years and highly recommend it. I can hit the GBB and 975 a little further but they can't compare with the TISI for forgiveness. You can hit the ball anywhere on the clubface and keep it in the fairway as long as the face is square at impact. I have the X shaft in it and would recommend it if you have a high swing speed because the stiff shaft is a weak stiff. I wish they made a 5.5 like the 975 because I would like to bring my ball flight down a little.

Regards,

Ken

Mark,

I have hit it a couple of times. It was very consistant, but not as long or boring as the 975. It was cake to hit, and I like the way it feels. I have hit the GBB, and the very expensive Hawkeye, and think the Ping is a much better club.

I remember reading that Laurie Davies went to the Ping after years with her old driver (that Japanese company who make the irons she plays). She is the beast of the LPGA so she knows her drivers, lol. Anyway, she said the Ping was not any longer than her old trusty driver, but it was in the fairway a much higher percentage of the time.

I know you play the 975, and love it, but I think we both know there are more forgiving drivers. I just love the way the 975 run along the earth scorching the wildlife (ok that is just the picture I have in MY mind, but it is a nice one!).

The new Liquid Metal driver is terrible. I expected a lot more for that price. I really think the new Taylor Mades are not an improvement over the older models. I think the original burner and the first generation Titanium were very good clubs, but the models after those are not better, IMO.

I still carry a 5 wood, and its an original Taylor Made Titanium. When it comes to golf, well money is not a concern. I have just not found a better 5 wood yet, and I have tried them all. Of course this is the same position that my Dentist used to explain why he is still hitting persimmon, lol.

Have a good one.

TH

I demoed the Pings too, with great expectations. Just couldn't hit them as well as I was supposed to. :-) Didn't feel as comfortable over them as the X-14s. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
