Gustave,

Interesting post. I think the main "thrust" of these
people pushing "Globalization" is really just a new
form of Imperialism with the G-8 Countries dominating
the equatorials. Of course, the main obsticle to a
"global cooperation treaty" is China with its 1.3 billion
yearning to get rich. They are the monkey wrench in the
equation. The funny thing is that what most people are
unaware of is that in fact, trade as a percentage of GDP
was greater in the last century than this one. One of
the driving factors of WWI was trade issues...Germany
wanted a piece of the Action and England, France, and
other nations had a vested interest in preventing their
access to global markets.

You and Orwell were absolutely correct though, in seeing
that their are really 3 trading blocks, NAFTA, Euro Union,
and Asia. What happens next is anyone's guess.
