DDI/IDO raising the ante on NTT and I-Mode. Uh, let's not get ahead of ourselves. i-mode is a service that actually exists and has been deployed. The IDO announcement is for a "trial system". Still looking for the multibillion-dollar buildout order. I know--it's weird to hanker for real money deals as opposed to trials, but I belong to the Weird Money school of investing. BTW, no mention of the deal on IDO's site. Hitachi was nice enough to provide a phone number, though.
