At this point, conservative mainly means attaching a value to the heritage of the West, and defending it. That means standing up for democratic capitalism, the scientific method and canons of scholarship, and the Judeo- Christian tradition, with its emphasis on personal responsibility and the importance of the individual's destiny.........
