Here is a good piece on ASP's and their evolution into VSPs. It was one thing when ASPs had to compete with an in-house client/server solution but now that the b2b exchanges are here, which is sort of an outsourced webapp extension to order entry, you might as well just use a webapp for everything. I think ASPs are finally going to go in this coming year, with the main components of IT infrastrucure being the b2b exchange integration and XML backend, + ASPs for the traditional ERP stuff. One caviat is that Oracle ERP has already modernized their architecture and can probably compete with Corio as an ASP. infoworld.com Lizzie
