I'm not so sure I see the possibility as remote. Last split occurred a year ago:

I'd think that the company would find a split to be useful in order to increase the float and hopefully attract some new trading interest. :) Of course, if last August's results are any indication of anything, this might not be any sort of a boost. <w>

On a separate note, I am reviewing last quarter's 10-Q filing. I am curious about the purchase of 250,000 shares of MVIS on April 13 at $50 per share.

What I don't understand is why CREE appears to have been willing to pay a 20% premium over the market at that time. If this has been discussed, I apologize, but I'm curious if anyone here has any 411 on what this strategic alliance is meant to accomplish, if it is being done on what appears to be less than economically justifiable terms. Comments welcomed.
