KurtSS - Brinker always focuses on M2 Money Supply Growth adjusted for inflation.

Since inflation has been gradually trending up, it would make sense that M2 Money Supply Growth unadjusted for inflation could give the appears of faster money supply growth.

Does anyone know if M2 vs. M3 growth varies quite a bit, either normally, or short term?

M2 and M3 varies quite a bit short-term which makes those moves meaningless. The only meaningful moves are the six month and one year trends.
