It was, and I never denied it, a time-passer while I awaited tiredness (which my doctor recommended). There was not really a seeking, or sincere, word in my posts to those ladies. If they had responded in kind, there may have been a continuation of exchanges. But they replied with threats to my very being Ah... now this is beginning to sound interesting to this Croc... who, by the way, is probably more of a hermit than most... in fact, possibly more hermetically sealed off from the world (of mankind, that is) than you.... But, let's see... back to the "time-passing" aspect... I have a website about canoes...Many people "drop by" and leave messages for me. Occasionally I reply if I feel so inclined... Some messages are interesting, and some aren't. Recently, I received a particularly memorable one that went something like this: "I HATE canoes.... If I ever SEE a canoe AGAIN, I am going to CHOP it into LITTLE PIECES with my AXE!!!!! THANK YOU. GOOD-BYE!!" Now, I believe my first reaction was of raising one, or possibly both eyebrows slightly... my normal "well, isn't THIS interesting?" response. Next, I probably rubbed my chin with my cupped hand... my usually "thinking about this" response. Then, most certainly I smiled slightly while deciding whether or not to respond... However, I distinctly remember that I didn't bother, perhaps because it is my considered opinion that I have enough friction in my life without actively seeking out optional aggravation beyond that which is inescapable. And so, what surprises me ever so slightly, is that you bothered to write to ladies whose ads seemed even mildly vexing to you... and that they actually bothered to respond to you.... It's a puzzle to this hermit who has posted this because it all seemed rather interesting 2 minutes ago. However, time passes... so I hit SUBMIT ;-}>
