I'll be on vacation in the Yellowstone National Park whole week next week - missing out the whole distribution fun ! Generally speaking the addition of Palm to the S&P index is a very bullish development, taking out one of the big uncertainties. The facts that S&P is willing to take on such high p/e stock as Palm into the index indicates they have strong confidence on the growth prospect of Palm. JDSU got added to the S&P and it has a psr ratio of 82 vs Palm's 20. Palm can easily double or triple once it's set lose from coms.

"Indeed, we estimate that COMS shares may fall to as low as the mid- to upper teens..." This comment was in discussion to the pending volatility of COMS with the pending PALM spinoff.

And people pay for this information. COMS sans PALM is already down to $13 but then it may take a while for these "Professionals" to figure that out. I have found that the even the big broker houses do not understand what is going on.

Advalorem:

"Mid to upper teens" will suit me fine, in fact I'm counting on it. And as you know, I agree that 3Com will not buy back stock until they see where things settle out. There's just no compelling business reason to spend the cash right now.
