C'mon JDN. It didn't take long for most people here to figure out that IBM rushed Shark to market in an attempt to slow down EMC's momentum -- 80% of revenues come from products introduced during the last 3 years. Shark won't even have FC connectivity until later this year and it's not competitive except in terms of price.

By the way, do you know why Sun doesn't break out its storage networking numbers? EMC indicated that Unix remains the dominant platform in the enterprise and Sun has consistently advertised that it is the largest Unix storage vendor. EMC's Connectrix, which grew 325% during the last quarter, will soon allow, if it doesn't already, storage subsystems from Sun, IBM, Compaq and HWP to attach to a switched fabric ESN with Symmetrix at its core. The server companies have to start selling them first, of course, before the defections can take place.
