Looks that IP/ATM brings best of two and big carriers are recognizing that.

Sure enough, the large carriers are certainly sticking to their ATM guns, and nothing at this point is going to change that for the foreseeable future. Hey, it works. Which leaves very little for those who like to tinker. The Internet adage that I think is great for promoting a spirit of innovation is, "Try it. If it's broke, fix it."

Carriers of the size you mentioned would never dare to go to market in such a way. They'd sometimes spend eons perfecting their services, sometimes taking longer than the life of the problem they were hoping to solve. Although, I think that this is changing somewhat.

In some cases, they just don't take their ideas to market at all. And in others, I believe that they are starting to seriously consider folding existing ones. But one never knows. All of a sudden they hit you with something like this Blockbuster thing the other day. One would have to think that there is more of this where that came from, if the pipes can handle it without causing familial unrest.

BTW, where are you getting your configuration information from, if I might ask.
