Suits me. I have never wanted Q taken over any time soon as I think the price we would get would be much less than what the company is potentially worth a few years out.

However, many have purchased Q in anticipation of getting a short term gain with a bid from DT, so if this fails to materialize, we could see a fall off. On the other hand, earnings were better than anticipated, and the stock did not sell off like most have with earnings releases, so it has some strength on its own.

Whether its DT, NTT, ATT, XYZTT, it doesn't matter. Q keeps getting more and more expensive for any other service provider to own every day that they remain independent. And I personally do not believe Joe would sell out before he thinks he can absolutely maximize shareholder value (and Phil Anschutz's value, remember he owns 39%!). As Joe said on the conference call after the earnings about wireless service, "no wine before it's time." I believe that it's far too early for the guys in Denver to be learning German (or any other language) just yet! As for the short interest, I don't read too much into that due to the closing of the merger on 6/30, and the unwinding of all the arb positions.
