E-mail from Andreas Wonisch (lurker) that the thread may be interested in:

Hi Joe,

some more news from Germany: I saw that you still read the German Wallstreet-Online board. Several months ago there was a message from someone employed at fab 30 (or at least he pretended to be) about a internal memo with the "top five goals for 2000". I didn't think that he was a "real"
worker there at that time but in face of the story from The Register it is maybe true:

TOP FIVE GOALS FOR 2000:

1. Grow revenues by more than 50%

2. Double flash memory revenues

3. Grow microprocessor unit sales greater than 25 million, of which
more than half are to be AMD Athlon family processors.

4. Capture enterprise system-design win and commence production
shipments of AMD Athlon processors to a tier-one PC OEM (original
equipment manufacturers: IBM, Compaq, Dell or HP).

5. Monetize CPD and align communication products and technology
development with AMD`s 3-Track Strategy:

o Desktop an mobile PC market - Maintain strong foothold.
o Web server market - Penetrate with multiprocessor capable chipset (eg.,
Sledgehammer) by year end.
o Internet appliance market - Find new vehicles (in addition to cell phones)
where AMD can participate.

Oh, and there will be a press conference on Thursday (AMD Saxony):

Kind regards,
