Because Att is the new MSO and they must provide choice to RR subscribers.

And the other choice is ATHM. In effect, same thing as allow RR to bleed dry. Unless of course you want to include narrowband service, but why would you do that?

Well, if you believe that Att would spin ATHM, then you could believe that too. I thought Att would do that some time ago and they probably regret not having done it, but it's too late now. They may yet do it in the far future. That is, if ATHM doesn't end up buying out Att first.

I don't believe anything yet. I don't know. I am only generated a list of hcoices. There are only three choices: Either RR gets spun into a free standing company or its subscribers are just migrated to another broadband or somebody totally unrelated to ATHM-AOL.TWX-Comcast etc. buys the service. The FAQ says a different brand name. Assuming that the writer has good inside information (a big assumption, I'll grant), then "different brand name" is not some incidental, non-commital comment. It means RoadRunners name will change.

No. ATHM is not in the MSO or last mile business except as the face of that part of the distribution.

Duh, really?? YOu cut off the sentence giving it an entirely differently meaning. I made it clear that ATHM can't buy RR because that owuld put it back into ATT's hands, the very company that is being forced to divest the RR part of MediaOne. And ATT is being forced to sell it. WNot sure why you think otherwise.
