Why should RR bleed? They aren't that much worse than ATHM. In many cases the service is better. If a sub has RR and they're satisfied, why change?

Narrowband is irrelevant. Why would you bring that up?

I am trying to explain how you must constrain your list because of the demands of law.

RR will not operate as a "free standing company" for the same reason ATHM won't. The powers that be won't let that go down and neither of these ISPs want it to be let go down.

Nobody could afford to buy it because the existing owners wouldn't sell. Further, no one really wants it now because the perception of cable is low at this time. I should say, no one will pony up anything near the money the existing owners would demand.

There is no implied migration. Existing RR customers who are now under Att have the option to either have ATHM or RR as their cable ISP. What migration do you see? Not many RR subs will jump unless ATHM transforms itself into more than it currently is. ATHM management hasn't begun to address this and instead are busy giving away the store to aliens in order to smoke screen persistent failure.

You forget the importance of brand name. RR is an established brand. There is no central control there to the extent Att has over ATHM. Changing what has been established will be next to impossible and definitely disastrous.

You cut off the further explication that divulges why Att must divest its default ownership received from the UMG merger, but that is a separate issue to the fact that some RR subs can jump to ATHM if they want. Att just can't take too many.
