I'm surprised you had to come all the way to San Diego to see a sugar glider, Mq, since they're native to your part of the world. Maybe we're discussing different beasties, since sugar gliders have <sharp> claws and would be incapable of running up a pane of glass. Here's a bit of background on these wee nocturnal marsupials:

I submitted your VW def to the FAQster because there had been a question about what the term meant. Your explanation was excellent, and should have been the only one used. As a prominent G&Ker, however, DownSouth has friends in high places and clearly profited from a bit of old-boy-network favoritism. Don't take it amiss. As for your other definitions, those could be a bit idiosyncratic for general distribution, but why don't you try restating them so inquiring minds can see?
