Junkyardawg, RE: My guess is that about 70% to 75% of the float on RMBS is shorted as of today.(Last months reported short interest was 62% of the float)

The NASD reported yesterday afternoon that the short interest in RMBS as of 15 July was 9,201,268, down from the previous month's 9,674,350 (BTW, which also solves last month's statistical quandry).

This is about 15% of so of the float, and not close to 62%, much less 70-75%.
