UF One also has to remember that the current impasse is hurting q asics business and by doing the spin off, they(spinco) will not be affected by patent disputes between qcom and another manufacturer and can just get on with the business of WCDMA/CDMA2000 asics by cross licensing or patent pool and should be at least a king in 3G asics.

I expect all royalty issues to be settled shortly with qcom, as the manufacturers can not afford to be caught up in a dog fight with qcom over IP issues,while those who have settled are moving ahead with products to the market place.
