Bilow,

Is Via or Ali using Rambus licensed foundries for their chip fabrication?

Also, will they be buying their DDR memory from Rambus licensed companies?

I would expect that Rambus will take them one or both to the ITC if not.

Acer Labs rolls out DDR chipset for Intel, AMD processors

ALI's Intel-based desktop DDR chipsets, the Aladdin Pro 5, is $33
in 20,000-unit lots, while the Aladdin Pro 5M for mobile PCs is $38
each in like quantities. Both prices are considerably lower than
Intel's initial $42 tag for its 815 series single-data-rate PC133
SDRAM chipset.

Gotta read the thread tonight.
But I take it that the plunge on Intel-will-cobble-SDRAM-chipset-for-Pentium-4 news is due to naive investors,
the unwashed masses that do not really understand the story.

Are we not still on solid ground? I hope so.
Is our patience not being tested again? Yes, it is.
