Then RIAA will target gnutella.

I realize that gnut is peer to peer...

You are naive if you belive this injunction will do anything but stiffen the resolve of the RIAA.

Napster brought MP3's to the average computer user, I have had to fire people in my office for Napster use (I was called Napster Police), Gnut is not nearly as easy for the non geek to use.

THis is indeed a HUGE ruling for the RIAA, how it will effect certain companies I am not sure, but there will be an effect.

Jay,

I think we are seeing the Napster trial along the same lines.
Nailing Napster will only feed the frenzy for the next solution.
MP3 is an established currency at this point. It will remain intact regardless of the outcome of the suit.
Napster is just one nightmare in what is certain to be a series of nightmares for the RIAA.

Have fun on your trip. I would go to a luggage store or a camping store for the tranformer you need. I bought a really nice adapter last year by a company called "Lewis N. Clark Travel Accessories".

Jay,

People will just move to Gnutella.........

Or scour.com....or the many others out there which will become more popular soon, if indeed Napster is shut down. These riaa people simply don't get it. Trying to legislate away Napster is like standing in front of a flood with a pail. Many will arise should Napster come and go. I really wonder how many of them spend time on the internet.
