Tony, RE: Compaq may want to avoid what IBM's been accused of: too many offerings that just confuse the customer. Last but not least, saves money, which Compaq is out to do in their turnaround strategy. Some of all the above went into the decision, I'm sure All valid points. However if tomorrow a customer of Tru64 is up for hardware upgrade to the system would he be willing to pay the huge cost or look for alternatives? Currently his only choice is Alpha. On his upgrade choice he might look for cost effective alternatives. Mula
