you are so right about that. When I'm dialing in via my wireless from my underwater habitat at 9600 baud, I never go to the homepage. Instead I have a html page i wrote with a bunch of shortcuts pre-defined. I also have 'graphics' turned off.

Frankly, I must admit that I'm a bit surprised about what a "hot" issue the Hot Subjects list has become these last few days, especially since we made this change way back in April, when we launched the new home page. At this point, I think we're talking past each other, so let me try to add some clarity. I apologize if I'm being repetitive. 1. We currently offer 2 "hot" lists on the SI Home Page. Hot StockTalk lists the hottest subjects from everything except Coffee Shop. Hot Coffee Talk lists the hottest subjects from Coffee Shop. As I said, we made this change in April (perhaps earlier) if my memory serves be correctly. 2. We will shortly be relaunching the "StockTalk Home Page" which is the page that currently lists all of the SI Forums. We'll be laying it out a bit differently to make it easier to use and more intuitive. At approximately the same time, we'll be offering a "Hot" list for each forum. So, if someone wants to see what the hottest subjects are in the Biotech discussion area (or another forum), they'll be able to click on a link to do that. We believe this offers value to individuals who are particularly interested in specific subject matter. So, we will end up with multiple hot-lists, as I said in a previous post. I apologize if that was confusing to anyone. 3. We will offer a "master" hot-list that will be a combined list of all subjects. The "master" list should be readily available from the SI Home Page and the StockTalk Home Page, but it is unlikely that we'll display it on the SI Home Page. Of the millions of visitors that we get each month, the vast majority of them are coming to learn/talk about stocks, so that is what we will feature on the SI Home Page. Since most of the Coffee Shop threads are not about stocks, they will not be co-mingled on the hot-list that we feature on the SI Home Page. I hope this, at least, clears up our intentions.
