I rescue spiders, too, unless they are small and then I ignore them. I also rescue earthworms that wind up on the sidewalk after a heavy rain. But I eat meat. I am probably not a completely rational being.

. Argentine ants (our local pest) are not native. Ah... are you in southern California? The little bastards are everywhere. And now fire ants have joined the party. And "Africanized" bees... what a zoo.
