Reaffirmation of the Gigabuck operating profit at the Robby Stephens Semiconductor conference by Ben Anixter.

cbs.marketwatch.com

[...]

"Anixter added that the company's goal of being at $1 billion in operating profits is within reach."

Unfortunately the article didn't say what year that goal would be reached.

Pravin:

I accept your assumption that incremental Q3 flash profits will offset the reduction in Communications profit owing to sale. In fact, net incremental Q3 after tax profits of (flash +comm.) could easily be $10 million or $0.07/sh. Incremental Q3 Athy after tax profits could easily (i.e conservatively) approach $1.00 in Q3 and $2.00 in Q4, assuming shipments of 3.6 and 7.2 million units respectively...

That results in assuming 20% tax rate:

Q3 after tax of $2.25
Q4 after tax of $4.25

or total Y2000 of $8.85 after tax...

Less conservatively, but still within the realm of the possible, assuming same Q3 and Q4 Athy shipments of 3.6 and 7.2 million respectively,

Q3 after tax of $2.50
Q4 after tax of $5.00

or total Y2000 of $9.85 after tax.

Note: Additionally, AMD will add in, but not for income form operations, the gain on the sale of the Communications division...

My current Y2000 earnings prediction is $9.00 after tax and before including gains on sale of Communications Division...

There is zero doubt, imho, that AMD will establish new highs this year, with or without SOX support...The only question is will it be within 2 weeks or 2 months...At $70, I doubt there is a better bargain in the marketplace...

My technical indicators suggest at $70, AMD is a screaming buy...Only 3 times previously this year have the technicals shown shown so strongly, and in each case, AMD has rebounded within the ensuing 2 weeks...a minimum of 20% (i.e $14 which would take it to $84)and a maximum of 50% (i.e $35...which would take it to a new all-time high of $105!!!)

Prediction: By August 14, AMD will be somewhere between $84 and $105!!!
