Re: How will AMD go higher...they let Intel take back the speed crown...? Stupid mistake...

Jim,

One thing I have learned over the past 6 months is that all of the concerns shared on this thread are not held by ANY big money. We account for maybe 0.5% of the common at most (including all lurkers). This pissing contest of who's got the fastest chip is getting old. I think AMD is doing the right thing by waiting for a volume release. Intel released 1 Ghz on March 8th and it still can't be found in any reasonable quantity. IMO, the "big" money is not this stupid to buy this load of crap that Intel is pushing. At least AMD set a date to counter Intel only a month later and re-iterated higher speeds coming in the fall. That's all that matters and I'm not expecting any kind of sell off. If anything, shorts will step in that don't understand AMD's fundamentals only to get crushed later on which will drive us even higher in the fall.

Jim,

they let Intel take back the speed crown...? Stupid mistake...

Intel has held the speed crown ever since the 1.5GHz Willy demo at IDF. Fry's also has a single 866MHz Intel system.
