Bush should have picked a moderate. Why he did not, I have no idea. You assume Junior-George picked Cheney. It is more in character with his history in business and as governor that Cheney was picked for him. TP

Lizzie, I tend to base my opinions on first-hand, real life experience. The gun-owners I know are through my wives family. They are honest, hard-working, good people. They like to hunt deer. They eat everything they shoot. (and when I'm lucky, I do too.) I am a little more to the center regarding gun control but do not consider it a major factor about whom I will choose for president. To be quite frank, I will not (as apparently you have) allow most popular media outlets scare me into not voting for someone through their ridiculous scare tactics. (Dick Chaney wants to shoot your children!) I find that gun ownership is far less of a real threat to me then , say, the exchange of nuclear secrets and the allowance of the Loral Corporation to ship missile technology to a communist regime that is intent on striking up another cold war with us and empowering themselves by feeding a million or so dollars directly through Al (Duh) Gore's hands and into the DNC. That is IMO, a true betrayal of every Americans security. We have been sold out by Bill Clinton and his henchmen (led by Al (Doy) Gore. At least I want somebody who is a patriot. JH
