I enjoy an excellent reputation for being an honest, straightforward poster here on SI and on RB. I have had a measure of success with my own "stock picks". I work very hard to find good opportunities in real companies on the OTCBB...

But the time has come to post on this:

JOE COPIA... most maligned poster on RB/SI and in the chat rooms...

Background:

When I first got into the stock market, I traded only listed stocks and NASDAQ stocks... in 1996 I started fooling around with pennies.

I found my way to this thread... yes FOUR years ago and was a follower of Joe Copia. I made money on many of his "picks"... then I lost money a couple of times and some people convinced me he was a P & D artist.

I believed that all that time until the last few months.

I have gotten to know Joe... I met him in person in South FL a few months ago. His reputation is unfounded and rooted in jealousy, resentment, envy and a variety of other emotions people can feel that either lose money or don't make as much money as they thought they could.

What does Joe Copia do?

He works hard... he does his due diligence on the companies that he ultimately posts on. HE buys a position in the company's stock and posts on it...

He posts on the stock and then bids for the stock through a MM. Isn't this stock manipulation? NO. HE IS LEVELING THE PLAYING FIELD.

I have been on the phone many times with Joe when he is SUPPORTING THE BID on a stock he owns. Those people who do the same post the same thing... a number of us have the ability to BID for the stock through a MM making a Market in that stock. I myself have opened two more accounts with firms that make markets in OTCBB stocks so I can go in and do battle with the MMs.

I can tell you this.... Joe Copia believes strongly in any stock he is posting on. Joe puts his money where his mouth is and goes on the bid and buys the stock those people are selling. If he was not there to support the bid, these stocks would tank on the SHORT pressure the other MMs put on them.

Instead of Bashing Joe Copia, people should stand back and look at the performance of the stocks he has posted on and look at the trading logs... They will see a persistent MM who is supporting the stock.

Look at FDKP today... it was up in an ugly market thanks to the support that Joe gives the stock through the MM on the bid.

IF Joe was running a P&D on these stocks, then why is he on the bid BUYING THE STOCK that people are selling?????

Call it whatever you want.... When Joe likes a stock, I am in because I know he is there to protect the stock from tankage... he does his DD. He calls the company and urges them to keep investors informed. Stocks he has posted on have worked out very well for those of us who bought the stock within the first day or two or three of his posting.

Now stack up what Joe does to what NITE and HRZG do? I know that when Joe (and it is often days or weeks before the stock moves higher thereby giving everyone a chance to get in before the move occurs) posts on a stock I can buy and hold and it will work out more often than not.

On the other hand, many wait until the party is well underway to jump in then complain that Joe Copia is a P & D artist when the stock corrects.

The OTCBB is a hard way to make money... the rewards are huge and the loses can be huge... if you let them.

Joe Copia is not coming over to your house to strong arm you into buying his stocks. Each person has their own responsibility to buy, not buy or sell a stock they are involved in.

I see SEC threats are used at SI just like RB. I am curious why so many want to be the stock savior? They threaten others, cause undue problems nd then whine in every post. Then on top of that they say they don't own the stock. Sheeezzzzz

We all should understand everyone has a motive for posting on a thread.

1. If they are looking for true DD they post one or two posts asking for DD then set back and watch for posts containing DD posted in response.

2. If a looking for DD poster, all of a sudden, turns into a poster that threatens others calling them pump and dumpers, promoters, paid promoters, insiders, company shills etc. they are their for a reason. They are surely not there for DD like they claimed when they first showed up.

3. Losers: These are posters that might have lost on a stock in their previous loser life. LOL Normally they find a stock when the move is at the top and they buy. This happens all the time in OTCBBs. Matter of fact it happens in most stocks categories. Its ironic that big firms put out buy recommendations and every Tom, Dick and Harry rush to buy then a few weeks later the buy reco plummets after the pazaz wears off.

I see attacks on about every thread I visit in the "Losers Posting" category. Its is especially evident of attacking when someone like Joe Copia or Willy Wizard's names are mentioned on a thread. These leaders post about stocks they buy and others buy at all levels but eventually they are slammed for supporting the company. Someone is always unhappy.

4. Longs that are not long $$$$s are found everywhere. Most are wantabees but are involved with games like Investment Challenges that are found all over the internet. These are posters that are as bad as they come. Because of some stupid little investment game they tout stocks and rip them apart because no real money is involved.

5. True Longs: Great people that believe in what they invested in and are willing to hold long term. I wish them all the luck in the world. Sad to say they normally hold to long and are holding at a loss most of the time.

6. Long Side Trader: Now these shareholders are making money. They will trade the bounces and normally average out as a stock moves up and average in as it moves back down. After a couple nice moves in a stock they are trading the moves with profits. Everyone should trade part of their portfolio, maybe 50% on each move and hold 50% in case the stock makes a huge move they are still involved.

7. Paid Basher??? I still have not seen anyone arrested for this. Are they out there? Hummmm maybe but I would like to see proof. Now we have seen a couple MM firms get in trouble lately for something close but I have yet to see an actual "paid basher" caught.

8. Bashers: Well I guess everyone that is negative is titled a "basher" I have even been guilty at times but have had my reasons. I do have a hard time when real stocks have a hero that continually bashes the stock. I see this type of poster on every thread I visit. I still think he is the "loser" that made a stupid decision. I think this type of poster needs to understand he was the loser or stupid buyer and should look in the mirror before he blames others for his mistakes. Nobody forced this guy to buy the stock he lost on. These posters always need someone to blame for their bad decisions.

Sorry about the long post. I know I could have wrote and reread everything and cleaned it up to make more sense but you get my point.
