The only stocks I own now are CAT and PG. Both hugely beaten down already. And both good value plays.

But looks like the specialist is playing games with CAT (and I am sure the same applies to many other issues). The stock drifted steadily lower today and "closed" down nearly a point. But 10 minutes after the close it was up a little for the day on no news.

Even though I benefitted from this, it strikes me as outrageous manipulation. The specialist gets all the weak holders out during the day and marks it back up after the close.

Do specialists truly have a license to steal?
