mr mark, I have config.sys and autoexec.bat in the C:\ root directory. Did you ever find out why sleep time for your JAZ reverts to 30 minutes? I found a good way to ask Iomega support questions is here findit.iomega.com It uses 'Ask Jeeves' I found out about this from the 'Iomega News' email. iomega.com Gottfried

To the best of my knowledge, you don't need AUTOEXEC.DOS or CONFIG.DOS at all. Another thought ... If you find a 'real' mess on your hands, you system may not even boot. Be prepared: Make you floppy bootable. In the worst case, you could boot with your floppy and use it to fix your system. Cheers, PW. P.S. I 'think' and am not really absolutely sure, but *.DOS files are left behind when you install or upgrade Windows. Perhaps someone with a better memory will fill us in here.
