"you don't need AUTOEXEC.DOS or CONFIG.DOS at all"

i started thinking about them and looking for them as inclusions in a good backup routine because of an emailed tip i received the other day. it specifically mentioned them both.

the fact that i can't locate either on my hd other than in the c:\backup folder only adds to my curiosity.

my main backup plan, pw, has always been via one boot floppy in tandem with a rescue jaz disk that boots to windows. all this other stuff is something i have been putting together for lesser troubles, i.e, software installs that fudge everything up. system.dat and user.dat are virtually mandatory for that. i was just 'rounding out' the files i quickly backup as a precaution prior to putting new stuff on my machine.

thanks for your input

:)
