Dear Ken: I believe it is reasonable to assume that the "commercials" are betting on the historically poor Aug/Sept. in the market more related to lack of volume and news then to the underlying company fundamentals. Throw in the hey day they can have by bringing up the BOGEYMAN (A.G) between now and the FOMC meeting and they probably feel they got a sure bet. So what? Whats that got to do with "INVESTING". Most of us here are not "traders" but long term investors. JDN

Ever hear of a guy named Yardeni? He seems to be touting that same point of view:

I think he's the same guy who said the world's economy would collapse because of Y2k, so I'm not sure how much credence to give his views.
