The last time, on that chart at least, that the commercials were in an extreme position was when they were very bullish in the early fall of 1998, (when SUNW exploded upward leading to a split) and in the late summer of 1999 (leading to another huge rally in SUNW and another split last December). Then look at what the S&P did right afterwards.

I am no fan of Yardeni, but have definitely started following the commercials, especially when they are in an extreme position and the public is in the exact opposite (as exists today). You have helped strengthen my conviction.
