Cirrus, most the hype about 1 GHZ is a crock, to me. It just so happens that we do most everything in powers of ten, maybe because we have ten fingers and ten toes. That makes numbers like 1,000, 1,000,000 and 1,000,000,000 special to some. I was much more pleased to see a report like this yesterday from semiconeng, than any report of a 1. something GHz processor intro:

Q: So where is the sweet spot on the normal distribution of speed bins of Coppermines from Chandler, AZ? Mean, median and mode would help too...

A: I don't have a clue. All I know is, if a customer orders 1,000/850's, they get them. If They order 1,000/933's, they get them. That's the bottom line.

Cirruslvr: Just say that I am unimpressed considering that back to April and May the scuttlebutt (you do remember, right) was that when TBird was coming out at 1.5 gHz. So now it is the end of July and the Tbird is still at 1ghz with prospects of a 1.1 gHz at the end of August. Looks like Tbird is in competition with the old P3 even with Dresden and the P4 due in this quarter at 1.4
gHz. I thought that the Tbird was supposed to a homerun and not a pop fly.
