Herb, >I thought that the Tbird was supposed to a homerun and not a pop fly.

Do you think it will be a hump-backed line drive that falls in for a single, or will it be caught behind short by Nomar Garciaparra? Yerrrrr out!

Slow day.

Tony

Herb - RE: "Just say that I am unimpressed considering that back to April and May the scuttlebutt (you do remember, right) was that when TBird was coming out at 1.5 gHz."

Those were just dumb rumors. I hope you didn't believe them.

"So now it is the end of July and the Tbird is still at 1ghz with prospects of a 1.1 gHz at the end of August. Looks like Tbird is in competition with the old P3 even with Dresden and the P4 due in this quarter at 1.4
gHz"

Thunderbird may still be at 1GHz, but at least it has attained this level. The PIII still hasn't attained 1GHz in volume. Thunderbird doesn't have any real competition at 1GHz.

Don't get your hopes up too high on Willy. It is tied to DRDRAM, so systems may cost too much. Maybe Dell will be able to offer competitive prices, but that is because they are a big DRDRAM seller. Other OEMs may not get good pricing and have to price systems high.
