Off topic --- Ignore questions ...

If a person on your ignore list sends you a private post, do you still get it? Do you learn of its existence?

If a person on ignore lists changes their SI handle, are the ignore lists updated for their new handle or does posts under the new handle slip through?

If everyone has a person on their ignore list, what purpose is served by letting the person continue posting?

Can a person determine how many ignore lists include them?

Why do some people inform the offensive poster of their decision to ignore them? This strikes me as almost a good-bye kiss.

If you send a private message to someone who's ignoring you, are you informed that your message would probably not be read?

If you un-ignore someone, can you see previously ignored posts?

Obviously, I've not chosen to ignore anyone through this feature of SI yet. It's easy enough to click NEXT once I see their name.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. Anyone know the entomology of the word IGNORE?
