Barry:

Yeoman's work, my man! Excellent! Two paragraphs in the first (opening) post pretty much peg him as an employee of Ramtron and explain the "why" of the orchestrated defamation (he is trying to win share of the JEDEC DDR2 balloting for inclusion of Ramtron IP in the standard). I wouldn't be surprised if Bilow is there too <ggg>.

<<We know, we know. The Bus "owns" SDRAM and DDR too. Well <snicker>, we at the INN are hoping you can keep that "Myth" on life support for a couple more Quarters. We figure we need the Reign of Terror to continue unchecked until JEDEC can complete the Balloting for DDR2.

You see we happen to be in the DRAM IP business too. And based on some DARPA work done by the good folk at U. Michigan and U. Maryland, we have concluded that our IP is very much better than yours. ...But we have a teenie weeny problem with a friend of yours, you know that NEC/Hitachi fella?

You see they got a whiff of our EDRAM technology a while back and tried to do an end around us with this "VCM DRAM" of theirs. We worked out a reasonable settlement with them to set the record straight as to who owns what. But they still keep insisting that JEDEC needs to adopt their cache memory flavor as the Herd standard, instead of or in addition to ours. Can you imagine that!?>>

Thank you!

BP

Thanks BG,

I was wondering whether that billboard was ever going to get some attention. :8)

You must admit the entertainment value is head and shoulders above the average post on these threads. I liked your selection too, but there's lots more where that came from.

Considering the Inquisitorial style around here, I had expected to be subjected to severe questioning about my "conspiratorial motivations" long before now. But I suppose I shouldn't be disappointed. Every field command needs an intelligence corps to blow away the Fog of War. Sooner or later one of you RAMBusites was bound to fill that need.

...See you at Midway. And don't forget to bring your chips.
