With all the QCOM/Ford talk, reading Wind's automotive business unit description may be useful for some people.

windriver.com

I personally like the list of key customers for car information systems:

Alpine
Aisin
Becker
Bosch
Casio
Clarion
Denso
Fujitsu
Kenwood
Magneti Marelli
Mannesmann VDO
Pioneer
Sony
Xanavi
Visteon
Yamaha

I hope they add wingcast soon.

Note: The CEO of Wingcast is ex-Microsoft, make of that what you want.

There's more. The Wingcast CEO was described by Paul Jacobs (QCOM) as heading the division responsible for Windows CE. On the other hand he talked about user friendly software being one of the keys to success. Maybe he learned something trying to get CE to succeed?
