Carl,

What is the relationship between DDR and DDRII -- is the latter a successor or a contemporary to the former? And why, if EDRAM (the original formulation of the Enhanced Memory System product) provides a 20% latency improvement over SDRAM, was it passed over by the industry for so many years?

I called Mushkin (who were recently bought out by EMS), and they are actually suggesting Mosel 2-2-2 133 SDRAM for hi-performance rather than HSDRAM, which they say is 3-3-3. The lady I talked to was not a tech, so the info may not be reliable. But, if true, this does not speak well for EDRAM (does it?).

Does EDRAM bypass a lot of SDRAM patents?

Thanks,
wily
