Sorry AMDroids, but the differences in scores can not be explained by mere MHz alone. Like Rambus has always said--if your
CPU clocks above 1GHz, you will easily see the difference.

Here's what Quake3 Timedemo 640x480 (Fastest) shows for a P-3 1.13GHz vs. a 1GHz Athlon T-bird, on a KX133 board with
CL2 PC133 SDRAM:

P-3 1.13GH + RDRAM: 170.8 fps
T-bird 1GHz + PC133: 149.9 fps

That is a HUGE difference, and it is just as large on the other benchmarks.

This is on a single-rambus-channel i820 board.

I'm not sure I heard it correctly, but I believe a reporter on CNBC this morning said that Sony was saying that it had shipped 4x their original forecast of PS2's to this point in time.
