<<The chip stocks might make a good model for comparison as they have suddenly fallen from favor even though they have a great future.>>
i'm not so sure that's a very good comparison, as chips are extremely cyclical in nature, while i think we're at the beginning of a long move in the telecom equip sector. i was amazed to see fiber conduits being layed in the cascade mtns, in an area that looks like any wanted criminal could become lost in it...(sorry, bob, but it is VERY rural). the point is, fiber is being layed and will continue to be layed for many years. as the demand for bandwidth is just beginning to scratch the surface, MRV should greatly benefit.

that being said, i don't disagree with the premise of the article you quoted... that's also why i like MRVC in this sector. i still believe it to be "relatively" undervalued. i also like their technology. while it's a very difficult stock to follow b/c of the diversity of technology w/in the optical space, that also gives us the opportunity to buy into a stock that others are having a difficult time following... we're about ready to realize the first real benefit, as we'll receive the shares of LUMN. and, if OA is anything like it appears, this could get really exciting. too bad, gilder has already addressed that subject (ad nauseum) in previous letters....
