I LOVE that HASA thing.

It's hard to organize people who don't really believe in anything except that they don't believe in anything. But they are cool people to hang around.

I also don't mind people who believe in something but not enough to shove it down my throat.

The UU's in our town seem to be a fairly intellectual class of people. I like 'em. But they are really really nice. Some of them are TOO nice for me. I like a little bitter with the sweet. Too much sweetness is cloying.

UU seems to be the place where almost ANYONE can end up and not feel particularly offended...

That has been my empirical observation. It was only second for me ( I suppose) because of my (not quite resolute) belief in a mystic, though somewhat non-specific connectedness between all things. That apparently sets me apart from UUs who generally accept everything, including nothing. UUs lost out by 6% to the Neo-Pagans, who seem to accept everything, except nothing.

<<What did you do to get Scientology, Joan?>>

I guess I got it because I answered so many questions "none of the above." The reason I did so is that I am dogmatic about very few religious questions. But their conclusion must have been is that I did so is because I had some very offbeat beliefs -- such as a belief in little green men.
