I started at 14, but I'm 9 days short of 65, which makes it even tougher but, I am determined. I'm tired of the hacking cough in the morning, and having to spit when there is no place to spit it. Don't have to worry about brown teeth though. All of mine are "store bought" and don't go in except for weddings, and funerals. After a good meal is the hardest time. I just pop a mint in my mouth, and get away from anyone that is smoking.

Thanks for the luck. I'm gonna need some.

A salute to you for the good judgement to quit at such an early age. Why absolutely amazes me is that seemingly intelligent young people start smoking in this era. They have so much information about the jeopardy (Russian roulette) they are potentially facing by starting. And, also the great expense of it. I understand people who are already addicted. But, a seemingly smart young person who is not addicted but begins I do not understand.

The bad behaviors are always the most difficult to break.
I hear old goody-two-shoes Bill Bennet is back to smoking. Here's the guy who keeps saying drug users choose to keep using their mood elevator of choice, while in the mean time he couldn't kick his little ol' nicotine habit. He was the drug czar. If there were an academy awards for hipocrasy he would get the statue, awarded down in Huntsville prison I would think.
