Bottom line is that we made the wrong bet last year. Paul Allen could have got 50% of Infospace last year for his 400 million. Now he gets just 8 to 10%. The same story applies to our money.

Gnet is down 50% compared to the average of last year. They had a lot of potential, but in the end were not large or strong enough to realize this potential.

As a combination, the first impression is again of strength. The conference call for which you mentioned the link last week was indeed impressive. However it needs an overall market analysis to define if they together will be tomorrows winner.

The key question is what are their long term competitive advantages.
Infospace delivers for instance horoscopes to other portals. Short term they may have a large market share, but long term there will be a lot of offerings for these types of services. No way you can charge a lot of money.

Authorize.net now offers a nice service. But how this will be in two years time? Will Visa and Mastercard include this type of services into their standard offering?
