Ditto. Heard same number for same reason.

To All: as I have stated on another thread (didn't state here because I only recently joined up, thanks to Jeff S.), VLNC is at the forefront of a paradigm shift --- rechargable high-end battery for the life of the device. This is made possible by one or more of the following: the large capacity of the VLNC battery (thus obviating the need to slap on a spare battery when the first runs out), or the 1000+ cycles possible with the VLNC battery (it may very well outlive the useful life of the device), or the significant economy realized by not surrounding the battery in a plastic case, etc.(done by a different supplier such as Moltech -- entailing added freight, handling, and profit, not to mention the cost of actually fabricating the plastic case and assembling the battery --- all of which, according to Lev, almost doubles the cost to the OEM).

To those on the thread who have a better feel for the electronics industry: are any Li ion batteries built in this way? Am I correct that this is a break-through? If I'm correct, it dramatically raises the bar --- the Li ion guys can't simply compete by lowering their price per watt hour by 10 or 20%. Now we're talking about a technical difference that allows savings not possible with Li ion technology. Will customers be willing to pay for this advance --- I sure hope so.

I like this.

Long and strong.....
