It is looking like there can be no significant volume of DDR desktop machines before the end of Q2-01 since Alpha chips have just been announced by Ali and no one else.
Thus the Alpha Platform testing is not underway yet as I mentioned in an earlier post.

This should alleviate your specific concern. However, I must say that the effort to obscure the true status of DDR platforms was an effective if cynical campaign.
