The word "disease" is so misused by the popular media and the medical establishment that it has ceased to serve its chief function as a word: to distinguish one concept from another. So many things that you hear called "diseases" are nothing more than collections of symptoms that, though often normal parts of the variations in the human experience, can be drugged into submission so that we can all be happy campers. (I wonder if Dan Quayle would have needed Ritalin when his brain was being nourished back home in Indiana .....).

I posted on another thread awhile back that Brave New World should be required reading in schools. I wonder if it is .....
