I'm the opposite. I think they can sell them but I wonder if they can make them. They have 2 fabs running and they are hoping to produce in 13 weeks only a little more than Intel makes in 1 week from 1 fab (fab12 in Ocotillo Az). This is not what I would expect to see from a company that has a good manufacturing line running. This is what one would see from a company that has problems.

sorry for misunderstanding. AMD is not aiming at larger market share this year, at least not by much - the total number of units is slightly higher but so is expected demand. Keep in mind that amd is discontinuing k6 line which was 6+million units this quarter.
I think that larger market share is Jerry's next year goal. For this year he wants to shift the mix from low to mid to cover all spectrum of retail market. So far he managed to capture more than 50% of retail high end from 0% at the end of last year. Jerry also wants to inro some products into commercial sector.
It is true that pIIIs are more available but still not enough and not that many at high end.
