Stephan, i know..their royalty portfolio is great. with SWC set to raise production levels significantly, this particular royalty will chip in a lot of cash over the next 50 years (the projected mine life of SWC)...the proposed FN/GOLD merged entity will be a most interesting combination...could make obscene amounts of money if we should ever get a rally in gold prices again (a remote possibility one should not rule out entirely...-g-).
btw, while Thompson denies it, the rumors that GOLD is in negotiations with the technically bankrupt hedger ASL won't die down...the eventual covering of ASL's hedge book in case GOLD took ASL over would amount to an ambush on the accumulated leasing/shorting scam position. i fervently hope they'll do it...

there's another small gold royalty co. that was recently pointed out to me, RGLD...it's also profitable, and has the most interesting escalation clauses in its royalty contracts based on the PoG.
